Saturday Sampler

Last week had to have been one of the longest weeks. It was only 4 days (Monday was a holiday) but felt like 10. I had an awesome weekend which made up for it though.

Saturday I got up bright and early and went to Woodstock GA for some mother/daughter quilting. I'm proud to say we finished a quilt. (only 100 more unfinished ones to go!) I'm super excited about this quilt (throw size). I fell in love with the fabric the second I saw it. So much so I got a tattoo of it.

This makes my third fully completed quilt. And as I said, I have several others I need to finish. I can't wait. My mom has been quilting for as long as I can remember and about 3 years ago I started. It's a great bonding experience and the end product is something I can keep for years and years.

Favorite things.

I recently discovering a dear friends blog. She posted some of her favorite things which got me thinking... what are the things I'd consider my favorite? I pondered for awhile and come up with my list. Not all of them are products.. it's a mixer of random things I like.

1. Target. I go at least one a week. I spend no less than $100 per trip. It's a sickness that can't be cured. And honestly if that is my only vice (it's not), I'll take it.

2. Monthly Planner. I've taken to writing everything down lately and take my planner everywhere. You just never know what you'll need jot something down.

3. Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Sun... It feels so good on your skin. It is so smooth and light. It's hard to find a face cream that doesn't irritate my skin.

4. Pandora. I listen to it all day at work and on the weekends while I'm cleaning or reading. Animal Collective, Explosions in the Sky, Sigur Ros, Kings of Leon, ... these bands keep me sane with the help of Pandora.

5. My quilt. There is nothing like waking up Saturday and curling up on the couch with a cup of coffee and a cheesy movie/tv show. And the fact I made the quilt with the help of my mom makes it that much more special.

6. Game night. We have game night every Wednesday. One friend is in school to become a chef and she cooks us some amazing food and we play games all night. It's a nice break from my boring office life during the week.

7. Mimosas. I love mimosas.' They are the perfect mixture of bubbles and yum. They are my preferred drink on Thanksgiving, New Years day,... and pretty much every Saturday.

8. My owl necklaces. A good friend of mine bought me this owl necklace to go with a dress I wore to her friends wedding. I love it and wear it every chance I get. It complaments my owl tattoo well.

9. My house. I live in the perfect little neighborhood in Atlanta, Edgewood. I live behind the Edgewood shopping center (Target!). And though some people find my neighborhood not so appealing, I find it rather delightful. I've lived in this neighboorhood before and regrete moving out. I guess moving away made me appricate it all the more. And my house is perfect. Two bed/bath, laundry, off street parking, huge yard, quite neighbors. I love it.
