I have been wanting to get back into reading more. I like reading at lunch and before bed but I've been so busy at work lately I sorta forgot how to read. I went on amazon and poked around until I decided on In The Woods by Tana French. I also bought another copy for my dear friend in Korea as sort of a silly lil book club we've started amongst ourselves. We read The Road together so this will be book 2.
I figured while I was already buying a book I might as well pick up some CD's to make the shipping worth my wild. To get me into music is really hard so when I do find a band I'm interested in I go all out. I bought Mumford & Sons, XX, and of course another Explosions in the Sky album. I also bought something for Christmas that is arriving separately. That will undoubtedly make it's way into another post.

Weekend!

Little 5 Points Halloween Festival and Parade was this past weekend. I had a blast.. so much so that I neglected to take pictures.. these are the few I manage to capture.

The weather was perfect! We hung out all day drinking on the street. It was great. I got to hang out with friends whom I don't get to see all that often. I didn't want the day to end!

A few months back I moved into my very own apartment. One of my best friends got me a gift certificate to ModCloth.com and I had yet to pick out anything until the other day.

Here's my blond hair. (it's blonder than the picture shows) I hate taking pictures of myself so this is the best you'll get. I started going blond awhile back however I've made the executive decision to go back to brown. Most people aren't happy about this. I haven't decided what color brown yet. At least I tried going blond.. and now I know it's not for me!

road trip.

My 5 day weekend started Thursday with a little road trip to Chattanooga to see Daniel Tosh. He sold out too quick to see him here in Atlanta (even though he added another show here). So off to Chattanooga we go. We got a room and stayed downtown blocks from everything. Chattanooga is a cute little town with the cuties pub, Hair of the Dog. (side note: Chattanooga can only sell beer up to 6% alcohol content.. crazy/sad) Thursday was the Tosh show. Friday we got up and went to the aquarium. Then walked around Chattanooga, even took a drive up the mountain with the sole purpose of getting fudge.. much to our dismay there was no fudge. The rest of the weekend was spend with good friend, good spirits, and good times. I think I'm refreshed enough to go back to work... maybe...

I put up a couple Halloween decorations.. nothing to the extent I used to go to. If I had more time I'd do way more. Also my cat Buddy loves to help me with puzzles and watches TV with me.

October!

October is the start of great weather, good beer, the return of football.. Go Pats! Also the return of great TV .. 30 Rock and my new favorite Friday Night Lights.

I have a lot of big things in store for October, Little 5 Points Parade, Zombie Apocalypse, one last trip to 6 Flags, and of course Halloween! I've already got my costume delivered .. (hint: flying V)

This week is especially exciting, I have a 5 day weekend starting Thursday. We are going on a road trip to Chattanooga for Daniel Tosh.

Animals.

We went to the Zoo Atlanta.

It rained just as we where leaving and poured as we walked to the car. Perfect timing! We went to dinner at Chinese Buddha than went back to my apartment complex and hung out at my neighbors'. Fittingly enough we decided to watch Animal House, (one of my all time favorites). There is nothing like have a few beers and walking a few doors down and climbing in my bed!

From this angle it looks like it was just Baxter and Stephen.. but I assure you there was a huge group behind me ready to grab the candy after he broke it!

Quilt.

Sunday I went to my parents house to work on a quilt I've been making for the past 2 years. My mom bought me the fabric at Quilts and Fixings Quilt Shop in 2007 as a gift and have been working little by little on it since. We finally got the whole thing pieced together yesterday. The last thing we need to do is add the outside boarder than the top will be completely finished. It has taken us so long because we wanted it to be perfect. The fabric is so pretty, it's civil war era browns and pinks. The colors don't show well in the picture since it was taken from my iphone. This will make my 4th completed quilt. I'm so excited!

Summer!

I'm back from my extra long vacation. I went to Maine to attend a funeral for the first half. The weather was horrible. It was cold and rained the entire time. All our big Maine plans where ruined. We had scheduled a trip to the coast and mountains both we had to cancel due to the weather. But it was good to see family. I miss them more than they know/think. While I was gone I got the following picture:

The second half of my trip was spend in Hilton Head, SC. The fella in the picture above, Stephen, his parents own a condo right on the beach. It was literal a few feet from the beach.. amazing! It was so nice out, weather was perfect. There was hardly anyone in on our part of the beach which made it all the better. There was 9 of us who went. We drank, sang, swam, cornholed, boogie boarded... ahh the life.

Two new additions to my life:

Alligator pool toy. (the cats don't really know what to think of it!) I love my pool, but there is no sun hitting it when I get home. It's horrible! It's still 90 degrees at 6:00pm but NO sun! So sad! But I do spend every second on the nice weekends down there!

These are wall hanging birds that I bought to go over my bed. There is hardly anything on my walls which I can't stand so these guys add a little something. And they match my tattoo!

May days...

I didn't have the best winter this year due to a death in the family. But now that the weather is warm I've been hanging out more. I've had a great few weeks. I've spent a lot of time with my good friends. Last weekend we bar hopped through Little 5 Points. Sunday my mom came down and I cooked her and her husband dinner for Mothers Day. It was a lot of fun. I tend not to hang out during the week as I have to wake up so early for work. I made a few exceptions this week though and hung out a few nights. The weekend came and ...

Friday night:
My first sushi... yum. The desert were frozen grapes.

Later we drank the night away at Jack's house.


Saturday:
Kite festival in Centennial Olympic Park. It was too hot so we stayed for one a second but the best part was playing in the fountain.


Met up with friends at Midway Pub in East Atlanta Village. We got there at 4 and left at 10.
